【9/11 Attacks】
On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 a series of four coordinated suicide attacks were planned and executed by the Al-Qaeda against the United States.
Nineteen Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial aircrafts, and then intentionally crashed two of the planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Both towers collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and causing countless fatalities.
A third plane was crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.
The terrorists had redirected the fourth plane toward Washington, D.C. targeting either the Capitol Building or the White House, but the passengers on that aircraft tried to take control of the plane and resisted the terrorists which led the plane to crash in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
There were over three-thousand fatalities in the September 11th attacks, including the lives of many citizens, emergency responders, and police officers.
